No fun!

Well, please excuse my typing if I sound a bit, odd. Friday afternoon I started to get a tummy ache and by 5PM I was in such pain that I actually drove myself to the E.R. I was vomitting bright red blood and that scared the hell out of me. I couldn't take it any more. I called my sister to meet me there (to watch Emmie, since John and the other kids are out of town). After many X-Rays, many drugs, a rectal exam, a urine test, and a Cat Scan, they found the problem - I had a kidney stone. Just lovely.

Wow - they drug you up to the gills for that. The first shot they gave me didn't do a thing - the pain got worse. The second shot did take the edge off, though and a few hours later we had our answer. So, they gave me a shot of a seriously hard-core narcotic (and said it would last for 6 hours) and sent me home. WITH 4 Vicodin and an Rx for more and told me to take 2 of the Vicodin as soon as I got home!! ZOMG - talk about being drugged up.

I *think* the stone has moved out of my ureter and in to my bladder now, but I really don't know. My back still hurts, but the "ZOMG I WANT TO DIE" pain has subsided. My urine is still bloody, though. No fun.

I'm trying to work today from bed, but not being very sucessful. I did get this one done (and yes, I know it still sucks) http://www.squidoo.com/bolt and have remedies for 2 clients ready to go out in the mail tomorrow. Ugh. All I want to do is sleep, but since it's just me and Emmie, I can't until she's ready for a nap.

Anyhoo - I'll shut up now because I realize I'm just babbling. LOL - maybe when I'm better I'll write a lens on Kidney Stones.

Assorted Ramblings...

It's so hot here I think my brain has melted. Seriously. I spent about 10 minutes outside watering the garden yesterday and just couldn't take it anymore. 103F is too hot for this mama.

So, I've been cloistered in the air-conditioned comfort of home with 6 kiddos having some seriously silly days and I've been able to get a teensy bit more work done online.

I've found a cool contest that you all can enter : http://lisareviews.com/2008/08/02/sony-digital-photo-frame-giveaway/#comment-1803

Lisa Reviews is a cool blog to read anyway, but giving away a new Sony Digital Photo Frame is way cool.

For my own stuff, I'm hot on the trail of the newest Wubbzy toys. Yes, I'm pathetic, I know - but I can't wait to play with Disco Wubbzy!! http://www.squidoo.com/wow-wow-wubbzy

The kiddos are all just about ready to head back to school. I just need to pick up all of their shirts from the embroidery place next week and take them in to buy shoes and we're all set! WOOT!

Hey, I'm famous!

Cool - I'm in the Squidoo Non-Profit Organizer's blog!

Charity Work

So, you need to be careful what you wish for. I was a huge pest to get my non-profits approved and now that they are, I've been labeled an Activist! LOL. I was invited to join the Activist's group and help with Squidoo fundraising awareness across the board. Our first "challenge" was to make a lens for charity using the theme of a bake sale. So, the winner of the challenge gets a $100 donation to their charity. Pretty cool.

Here's my entry: http://www.squidoo.com/virtual-bake-sale

Visit it! Leave me a comment, say hi, tell me to just shut up already, anything you'd like!

Now, I NEEEEEEEED to clean the house today. Yuck. No fun.

Kogi's coming over tomorrow to help me photograph some more toads so I need to get some props ready for that.

I still have 2 pages I'm working on that are kind of time-sensitive, I need to go to the grocery store, and John and Tess are up in Estes for an event this weekend.

Crap. I need more caffeine first.

Success at Last.

Finally got my 2 favorite non-profits approved over on Squidoo. I did a happy dance. I stopped doing the happy dance when I realized that getting them approved was actually the easy part (in retrospect) - now I've got a long road ahead of me to see these good folks actually earning some money.

Longhopes Donkey Shelter

The Wild Animal Sanctuary

Ugh. It's too friggin' hot to write any more. Even with the A/C full blast, it's 80 degrees in the basement. I thought a cold front was due to come through today. Uh, I don't think so.

Crazy week

Things have been a tad insane around here lately. My nephew is back from Montana and his sister is here for a month too. It was mass pandemonium here yesterday. My house is now officially trashed.

Cleo is doing well and Bat is slowly warming up to her (yay!). He has consented to eating at the same time as her and I caught them playing together yesterday.

I'm working on making pages for the Wild Animal Sanctuary here and that's been pretty emotional for me (some of their stories choke me up so much). http://www.squidoo.com/wild-animal-sanctuary

I've been working on the Squidetsian group a lot. Very happy that it's not a solo thing, though, I'm groupmaster for a new Colorado group and haven't found any administrators to help me out yet. Plus, one of the groups that I joined added me as admin and I wasn't expecting that at all.

New homeopathy clients have slowed to a trickle, which is kind of good, since it gives me a bit of a breather. I've met some great vets who practice other modalities (acupunture and chiropractic) so networking is always good.

I just wrote a new page on Alfred Packer - the cannibal http://www.squidoo.com/alfred-packer because I need more biography and history stuff for the Colorado Group. Next on the agenda is Baby Doe Tabor and Molly Brown.

Next week I need to start shopping for school clothes and get all the school shirts embroidered with the school logo - Bella is starting Kindergarten in August. *sob* I'll probably be crying and sobbing all over the forums then.

Off to deal with the aftermath of the kiddo-fest! I hope all of you are having a good summer. Love and Blessings - Christie

Kids and Kid Stuff

I've been making fan pages about kid's stuff with my kiddos on Squidoo. Alex is getting really good at it! We spent 2 days just hanging out watching TV to find our favorite kids' shows to write about. Today we're going to ride, but other than that, gas is just too damn expensive to go anywhere this summer, so I'm having to get creative with things to keep them from killing each other. Seriously. If they stay busy and happy they don't argue. It's keeping me on my toes, to say the least.

So, any of you parents out there (or uncles, aunts, teachers, etc.) - here's some kid stuff for ya'.

And others but I won't bore you more. I *think* Tessa got most of the kid ones added to the second one. Hmmmmmm, I should check that out, but I am lazy and I've got to repair a saddle pad really quick before we go for our ride.

Trying to be organized.

I've finally gotten around to organizing my web pages (sort of) - http://www.squidoo.com/the-homeopath Neat as a pin *pats self on back*

Now, off to tackle my closet, my office, and under the kitchen sink - wish me luck!!!

Cleo's new mom is an idiot.

Well, as some of you already know, we've adopted a little kitten ball of white fluff who is congentially deaf. Tessa named her Cleo yeah, this Cleo - http://www.squidoo.com/h20mermaids - and I'm such a dork. She was under the bed today and I said "Oh, just shake the food dish and she'll come out". Duh. Then I went to find her this evening and was doing the whole "here Cleo, here kitty" thing. Double Duh.

She's very sweet and the most mellow kitten I've ever met - like kitty on qualudes. Bat Cat is miffed though, he's being a priss but I think he's actually terrified of her. Ha! That's our little family, one cat's deaf, and the other's neurotic.
